Master List of kinks if 12 part mini serial

This is a master list in order of the storys I've been writing. I've decided to name the 12 part mini-series " Starship Exeter: Exeter Rising ." I have been able to clear off a good segment of time and I'll be trying to produce a full nearly finished script once a week. That way the remainer of the 12 part serial will be done in little over 2 months from now, minus of course big jim performing the editing within these threads. ( Which he will be doing as I move on to each story in order. He will be posting new threads with the final edits of the storys. And these links will be updated to his final revisions of each episode script. ) But due to the different storys being scattered all over the Character and Stories Forum, I thought a full consecutive order list linking to each story would be helpful to any would be interested readers. ( Sorry for the silly typo in the thread title. But hey...it grabbed your attention..didn't it? )

Just click on each link in sequence, and it will take you to the next story in order. The percentage listed after each title represents where each story is along in each stage of that color represented. ( Example : Script 5 shows 90% with a brown indicates that it is 90% completed in it's initial rough draft. While a script in red shows 30% incicates that it is 30% completed into it's final editing by big jim. Script 9 shows 5% in blue means that it is only 5% into it's projected / intended rough story outline. This should offer a much closer report of the status of each story. The percentages offered are the best guess to the most current status of each story listed. I hope to have this list updated frequently as there is progress to report. ) Revision notes posted at the end of each act are follow ups to be added by Robert prior to big jim performing final edit prior to posting. Everything that is written by Robert prior to handing over to big jim for final editing shall be posted the night of it being written. ( for colors blue, brown. Red does not apply since this already posted, but being edited ) This is to get the story out into the public as fast as possible no matter how raw and unfinished so anyone who is interested IS NOT forced to wait. What is publically posted is as complete as Robert has personally offline. First date listed with each title mark when each story first posted in forum in earliest form. The following date is last date story was worked on and posted. To make time easier to understand as to the the Stardates as a frame of reference, each story is 2 days story time approximately. There is NO TIME SKIP BETWEEN STORIES and resumes immediately within a couple of hours maximum of the action from the previous story. The entire 12 part mini-serial fits into a 24 day span in story order.

EDIT: As of July 11, until further notice the story outlines of episodes 8 thru 12 will not be posted in advance, but will be posted online the night when scripting commences on that episode as done in the previous scripts of 3 thru 7. My apologies for the tempory incovnenience of the story outlines of 8 thru 12 being not current and not accurate to what is at present being revised prior to scripting and posting.

As each episode script is finished in rough form, big jim will edit and post each in a revised thread. I'll go back and edit the links to each story so that each link will be current to the most completed version of each story. This thread will be the master page to access akll the current versions of the story to keep every thing simple and easy to follow.

Tomorrow night on March 31 I'll start writing and posting the Teaser on Story 4.

Even though I have made revision noted in each of the acts in story 3, I will probably refrain from doing these revisions until I finish writing and posting the rough script Acts and notes on story 12. I would have a hard time writing later stories and then revising earlier stories simulantiously. This way I can focus on knocking out the lion's share of the work.

Sorry big jim. You'll have to wait to post any revisions till then. But you can begin to clean up what there is prior to my acting on the revision notes till then. But it does give you time to ponder and think up additional stuff that you want to offer input prior to the revisions being done. More input for you, less work for you. But he you can begin editing what I have present in the way of typos and script structure and grammer and such.

Posted Teaser on 4th story. Not really satisfied with it. Not enough fire in Garrovick's quarters where he "Lays down the Law" with Harris and Cutty. Wanted more of an intitial shouting match between Harris and Cutty with Garrovick blowing up at both of them. I may go back and rewrite Teaser. Plan on making it at least twice as long.

Broke up story into rough breaks between acts. Will spill leftovers from Act II into Act III.

Robert FYI:

The color choice of "Cyan" in the scripts on the default background of the forum renders that text virtually illegible and practically invisible to me on my system. I can work around by copying and pasting, but I thought you might want to be aware of that.

The green, red, and blue on the Master Kinks page are perfectly legible, and orange is OK but only slightly less fine in large doses. On the other hand, your Marx brother's quote is barely visible to me.

It's not the colors that are the problem, but rather their interaction with the background, which can be a problem since the background is bright. (Don't change it Dennis, it looks cool.)

I would guess the background is coming from Polaris, so you have to take that as it is. Upon "viewing source" and searching through it, it looks like the background color is set by

background: #DEDEEA;

which in decimal is 222,222,234, if this helps. This of course is a fairly bright off-white blue.

P.S. I originally posted the wrong color for the background, but one that was close.

Thanks John. I have been meaning to mention that to big jim. We'll get it changed to a more visible color for the highlighted sections of the scripts.

The light color on my Marx joke in the signiature is meant to be light. I wanted it just visible so that it can be barely seen by those who are curious, but easy to ignore for those not wanting to bother with it.

As for the orange, I'll be happy to change it. I mainly was looking for a pronounced color that can be easily distinguished from Red, green, and blue. I'll see if I can find a better substitute.

By the way...I've been wanting to Private Message you and noticed that you don't have that set up. Just FYI. but since you seem to be on top of this master list page of the storys I'm writing, I guess there is no need to PM you to let you know. ( sic...lol )

So here's the Sixty Four Thousand Dollar Question.... Now that Starship Farraguart is doing animated serries, is or are Exeter going in that direction???

Or, can we wish for an anthology serries....

I'm just a fan, and the more trek (Good Trek) the better!!!

Thanks. It's real encouraging to hear that.

I'm just a fan too. These are not official Starship Exeter stories as far as "canon" are concerned. They are being written with the intent for them to fit snugly within TOS Trek and Exeter canon. But I hope in time they will be considered part of "canon". That will be up to Jimm and Josh to decide. I told Jimm in August 2004 when I visited him that these stories were his and Josh's to do with as they pleased on a silver platter with no strings attached. I think I have said that to Josh as well. And that offer still stands for all 12 stories I am currently writing. It would be great that these could ever be produced. I doubt they will be. I have seriously toyed with the idea of storyboarding and even maybe making a film clip animatic of hand drawn shots from the first 2 stories. But writing the rough scripts and big jim doing the revisions comes first. On a personal note these type stories represent what I expect out of any "trek" series. The situation dealing with the Klingons and Romulans has been screaming to be dealt with since TOS was canceled. And this 12 parted is solely geared to fill that vacuum.


This 12 part series is intended to come right after the first Exeter story where Garrovick and Cutty retrieve the Exeter, and to blend and end right before "The Savage Empire". I look and treat "The Savage Empire" as episode 13of this mini-series of stories. And that is how I am approaching writing them.

Thanks Allen. We just got the van back Friday ( afternoon after a week after a bearing came loose and broke the pumpshaft and it refusing to drive in any gear ) with a rebuilt transmission and a $1879 price tag we got blindsided on. Fortunately for us Debbie has been squirreling away cash into our savings accounts for a rainy day. It paid for the repair costs, but drained our emergency cash reserves for "emergencies" which has left her an emotional wreck. But all is well, and with that ordeal over I can get back to writing. This whole thing with the van and wife teetering on the edge of loosing emotionally had put a crimp in my "getting in the zone" writing. With the tax rebate coming in it will about pay for what we spent. But I can now kiss my new MacBook goodbye that I was about to purchase with a wireless airport. I had planned on using it to finally use high speed cable to view all the new fan films that have come out in the past 2 years since we dropped the high speed so we could have more free cash after we bought the "new" house. Well...hopefully within this next year we can work it out. I have yet to see Intrepid's first episode and the second one of Farragut and a plethera of other Trek and sci-fi fan films. ( Bummer...I will have to wait for a while longer..)

We bought one of those outdoor fireplace thingies. ( I think they call it a chimenea ) one week before the van went down on us. I've been using the fireplace almost every evening this past week to deal with the stress. The interesting thing is that there are alot of neighbors who are still cutting doen trees and branches damaged in this winter's ice storm. So I have plenty of wood and kindling without spending any money. But the wife refuses to let me come to bed unless I wash and get rid of the smoke smell so it won't aggrivate her allergies. Wierd taking a shower at 11pm at night.

Hopefully I can clean up a few oopies in Act IV in story 4 monday night and begin writing the Teaser for story 5 and have it posted monday evening.

Sorry to hear about the van . At least it is fixed. Our van is showing signs that the fuel filter is stopping up . It is in the tank on a our Caravan so I have been putting it off . I hate to work on my own because I am always fixing them at work.
I keep some emergency money around also so I know how you guys feel about having to raid it . At least the rebate check is gonna help you guys. I am planning on rat holing mine for a future emergency.
Funny how watching a fireplace has a soothing effect on the nerves isn't it. My wife hates the smoke also or I would put a fireplace in my house . We heated with wood in our previous "mobile cave" and she hated it. It sure did keep us warm though.

You should call on your friends to relieve your fanfilm woes.

I am looking forward to more of the stories. You seem to capture the characters behavior exactly as I imagine them based on the fanfilms depictions . They (the stories) sure would make good episodes . Too bad the productions takes so long and costs so much.
